Phaeleh (DJ) + Illum Sphere (Live)
+ Owsey (DJ) + Jono McCleery (Live) + Hiatus & Shura + Mt^Wolf (Live)
Mt.Wolf are proud to announce the launch of our live music night — WOLF CLUB.
Hosted by ourselves and taking place at the famous XOYO in London, every month we are set to feature some of our favourite artists in the industry.
For our launch in March we stick by that philosophy with a magnificent varied line up of music.
PHAELEH (DJ Set)
Headlining the night we are excited to welcome one of the country’s best producer/DJs — Phaeleh.
We first fell in love with the electronic bass wizard after hearing the magnificent ‘Afterglow’, and with support from the scene’s leading artists including Skream, N-Type, Scuba and Kryptic Minds, as well as support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Kiss and XFM, we are bracing ourselves for a set of epic proportions.
ILLUM SPHERE (Live)
Our live headliner comes in the form of the super cool Illum Sphere.
Having made a name for himself in Leeds with the infamous Hoya:Hoya club night with Jonny Dub, and subsequently releasing an EP on Fat City in 2009, Illum Sphere’s career quickly went global, with artists and fans alike craving gigs, releases and remixes.
Now boasting admirers such as Mary Anne Hobbs, Thom Yorke and Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder collective we are ready to welcome his mesmerising full live set to Wolf Club. Expect a cleverly crafted mix of hip-hop, electronic and dubstep, with whooping bass to make the room shake.
JONO McCLEERY(Live)
Jono McCleery’s debut album Darkest Light was completed in 2008. Self-produced, and totally funded by his fans it earned him the keen eye of leading UK imprint Ninja Tune who signed him and where recently he has released his critically acclaimed masterpiece There is. Described as ‘Miles Davies, Massive Attack, John Martyn, Fink and Radiohead wrapped up in one exquisitely produced album’, his live set of folk and cinematic electronica is not to be missed.
HIATUS & SHURA (Live)
This dynamic pairing have crept to cult fame with their online masterpiece, ‘Fortune’s Fool’, racking up some 50,000hits in just a matter of months.
Fans include Bonobo, Jamie Woon, Romy of The xx and Rob Da Bank, while Eddy Temple Morris hailed them as the next Massive Attack! We are expecting another breath taking- set.
OWSEY (DJ Set)
If you’re a fan of beautiful ambient, dreamy music that pulls from within the soul then like us you’ll find this rising
producer phenomenal. His hyped remixes include Ellie Goulding, Birdy and the recent No.1 artist Gotye. We can assure you that he’s on the tip of blowing up and we are excited to announce his first ever DJ set at Wolf Club.
MT. WOLF (Live)
Opening the night of course will be us Mt. Wolf. A four piece band based in London and, although now city dwellers, we each were born by the sea (Guernsey, Brighton, Dorset), an experience that places a huge influence on our music. Described as ‘dreamfolk’, a cinematic fusion of both Folk and Electronica, the band mix a unique hybrid of strings and instrumentation with heart-melting harmonies and contemporary electronic and bass influenced sounds. Drawing on influences like M83, Little Dragon, Sbtrkt, Bon Iver and Youth Lagoon, our leading lady Kate Sproule has been likened to both Bjork and Martha Wainwright, and her voice captures the attention of the most restless of audiences. Remember to get there early to catch our full live set.
