Emerging Artists Vol.1

Suzi, 2011, by LGVL

XOYO Gallery is now doing a new event in support of emerging artists.
During the two first weeks of February you will be able to come and view the first selection.

Carlos Armendariz, Born in the north of Spain, I moved to London to study photographic arts.
I see my work as a quite personal research into our relationship with images as creators and consumers, and into how they affect the way we think and perceive reality.

Rachel Bevis, is a British documentary photographer based in London.

Lydia Garnett,is a photographer based in London. Lydia shoots collaboratively as part of LGVL.

Christa Holka, is an American photographer who lives and works in London. Christa’s work mainly uses photography to deal with issues of documenting and archiving the communities in which she exists. Christa has an MA in Fine Art from Central St. Martins College of Art & Design, a BA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and a BA in Literature from the University of New York at Buffalo.
Christa works as a freelance photographer documenting live art/artists and art events as well as in editorial and fashion photography. She is also a stills photographer for film and television, and works in set design for fashion and film.

Vic Lentaigne, shoots independently and as a part of LGVL.
Her personal work is influenced by notions of romanticism, the freedom of youth and those that she photographs. She prefers to shoot on film as she values the esthetics and honesty of the medium.

Jacob Love, is an artist who works in photography and video. "In re-interpreting such familiar spaces, Love creates a beauty that doesn’t exist in reality, and with his muted colours and almost scientific compositions, all points to an interesting future." Sue Steward - The Evening Standard

Victoria Sin, "Canadian-born Victoria Sin, the girl in the shoot, came to London to study fashion three years ago, but it didn't really work out. However, it's sneakily seeped its way back into her life in the form of Victory, the weirdly porn and wildlife-inspired t-shirt label she started. Other than designing all of Victory's t-shirts herself, Victoria works as a freelance illustrator of dog portraits for canine obsessives. That's cool, though, because she says people love their dogs, they're easy to draw, and it pays well. By the way, Victoria Sin is her real name. A friend told her she shared it with quite a well known German pornographic actress, but she decided to just own it." Vice Style 2011.
