Flipper
Influential Punk/Grunge band Flipper, hailing from the first wave of punk bands that developed out of the rich San Francisco/West Coast punk rock movement, is announcing plans for shows, tours, and more album releases this year. Beginning with two special events on March 29 & 30, in Denver at the Lion's Lair, to coincide with San Francisco punk photography exhibits by Ruby Ray and Bruce Connor. Then the band heads across the pond for their first full fledged UK/Europe tour in 19years. Flipper did a short tour of UK/Ireland in 2006 during a two year stent with Krist Novoselic on bass. Now with Rachel Thoele (Frightwig, Mudwomen) on bass, the band is off and running once again.
A 30 year anniversary vinyl edition of ALBUM - Generic Flipper, will be released this year on, 4 Men With Beards in the US and Domino in the UK/Europe. Other album releases in the works include a studio album with never before released material with founding member Will Shatter who died in 1987. The unreleased tracks were left over from the 1983 Gone Fishin' recording sessions. This material is the last of the studio recordings from the band's 80's era lineup. There may also be a brand new album of new songs out late in the year or early 2013. More US dates and worldwide touring is in the works for 2012 and beyond.
